English Camp

Thankfully we hosted a three day English Camp this summer with the partnership of Grace Community Church of Willow Street (PA). They sent a team of four ladies to share the gospel through English lessons. They have done amazing ministries while they were in Japan. More than half of the participants were non-believers and had never heard about the gospel before! Those children learned about the One who created this world and each one of us. Not only children but also their mothers had a chance to learn about God in adult lessons. The highlight of this camp was that one of the mothers who participated in English Camp came to the following Sunday service and keeps coming to church! Please pray for her salvation. I deeply appreciate the effort of the team and also the generosity of their sending church!

“The God that we worship in the states is the same one that is in Japan. How amazing is it that the same God we worship in a chair in church is the same God a small church worships in a community center room in Japan. One God created every person in this world with purpose and for a purpose. The children’s camp I got to be a part of was teaching the next generation about their Creator.” (Emma Shultz)

Mental Health for Ministry Workers

I work part time for Ochanomizu Christian Center in Tokyo. Our team hosted a seminar on mental health for ministry workers, because burnout is becoming more serious among pastors. One of the speakers says, “Japanese pastors are too serious”. I think ‘seriousness’ is  necessary for ministries but at the same time we need to trust in Him more and encourage each other as beloved children of God.

Christianity and Mercy Ministry

God continues to use me in a unique way. I had the privilege to give a lecture on Social Justice and Christianity at a historic women’s university in Tokyo. Most of the students are non-Christians but they responded very well. Not only the students but also professors heard about the gospel. I pray that they see the love of God through our action and eventually come to know Jesus, who is the true Good Samaritan sacrificing everything to save us.

My family

By God’s grace, our three daughters are growing up healthy. Our oldest daughter started going to a public elementary school. She believes in Jesus and often says, “Daddy, please come to my school and teach about Jesus, because no one goes to church. They have no idea about Jesus!” Her pure faith makes me happy and also motivated to share the gospel. I believe our heavenly Father also enjoys us living in faith.
